York debutante and her social standing as the wife of a corporate attorney, that hardly seemed logical. “But,” she says, “if it’s from God, it just won’t go away.” She decided to test the waters by serving as a volunteer in Houston’s fourth ward at the Martin Luther King Center. To her amazement, she found that she could relate well to the people God had called her to serve, and she felt at home doing it. Moore describes her experience in fulfilling that vision as being like looking through a telescope.
